Well hello again! If you have wondered where I have been, I had to take some time off in order to concentrate on the many other hats I wear as a small business owner! So I am glad to get an opportunity to write to you all again :)

Let me take a moment to reintroduce us to our new readers.

We are so grateful you chose to follow along with us out of ALL the choices out there!!! We are honored for you to be a part of our story. I tell you time sure gets away quickly doesn't it? As a small family owned business it definitely flies by!

Well it is time for this week's Blog recipe!

If you enjoy the recipes we share, be sure to let us know!

If you are like us and are growing a garden, then you probably have squash and zucchini coming in by the boat load LOL! Here is a delicious way to prepare them in a different way then you may have done before. This recipe comes from our friends at Rada. If you need a GREAT knife to use for cutting these, look no further than our large selection of Rada knives right here at the store!

Zucchini Chips

Ingredients you will need:

  • 2 large zucchini, sliced into 1/4″ chips

  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs

  • 1/4 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 egg whites

  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • Optional seasonings (1/4 teaspoon): choose one of our Troutt Old Time General store seasonings! You can find them instore or on our WEBSHOP under the in-house seasoning category

Preheat oven to 450°. Wash the zucchini and slice up your zucchini into quarter inch slices. Crack two egg whites into one bowl. Mix bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and seasoning in another bowl. Dip the zucchini chips, one by one, first into the egg whites then into the dry mixture. Place your chips on a baking sheet. You might want to place foil or parchment with spray over the top. Bake for 7 minutes. Then turn the chips over and bake for another 7-9 minutes or until golden brown on both sides. Serve them while they’re hot!

So delicious!! We can't wait for you to try these!

Well time to sign off for this week's blog. Let us know what you think on our Facebook page!

We hope you enjoy the rest of the week and are able to come by and see us!!
