They are HERE!!!

I can't believe the time has come for our 2024 Heirloom Tomato Plant season!!! We just brought 2 vehicle loads of our ever popular heirloom non-GMO pesticide free tomato plants!!! I don't know about you, but this lady is so ready for some fresh out of the garden tomatoes!!!




This week is going to be a great week at Troutt Old Time General Store!!!

Not only is it the first week with our tomato plants, but it is the first week of the STRAWBERRY season!!!!

We have partnered with Bennett Farms again for our LOCALLY grown strawberries!!! We will be making LOTS of strawberry desserts AND canned goods! Be watching on our social media platforms for up to date info!

We plan on canning our VERY POPULAR Strawberry Jam, Strawberry Jalapeno Jam, Berrylicious Jam and more! Don't forget about our SUPER DUPER popular Strawberry Butter too!!

Who else is HUNGRY now!!! LOL


Delicious LOCALLY grown in the field and sunshine Strawberries make our in-house homemade Strawberry Jam even better!


















Now for a little pep in your step, try our delicious Strawberry Jalapeno Jam! Wonderful with cream cheese and butter crackers!!!

Well it is time for our weekly recipe!


This week we are featuring a delicious recipe using fresh asparagus! Springtime is the season for locally grown asparagus, so we hope you will give this a try!


One-Pot Stuffed Chicken Breast

An amazing chicken dinner is just a few minutes away with this One-Pot Stuffed Chicken recipe! Featuring juicy chicken breast and delicious cheese, this easy dish tastes phenomenal.

Ingredients

1 lb. asparagus, trimmed

3 green onions, chopped

3-4 chicken breasts, halved and pounded to 1/4″

Sliced ham

Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Cajun seasoning

Sliced almonds, optional

**Ingredients you will need for sauce:

1/2 C. mayonnaise

1/2 C. Greek yogurt

1 Tbs. Dijon mustard

2 tps. curry powder

2 tps. garlic powder

1 tps. Cajun seasoning


Instructions

Season, cut, and pound chicken. Leave chicken halves connected. Place asparagus, cheese, and ham inside chicken breast halves. Secure halves with toothpicks.

Sear chicken on medium heat, approximately 7 minutes per side. Cook until internal temp is 165°. Combine sauce ingredients and top on cooked chicken. Serve and enjoy!
