Time sure is flying this season!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week??? Goodness how fast Fall is flying by! We have been so busy getting the store ready for our 10th Annual Christmas Open House last week and now we turn our attention to Thanksgiving cooking and baking!

We are taking our pre-orders for our in-house homemade Cheeseballs, Dips and cakes! Be sure to check out our Facebook page post for our list of available options. Let us know if you would like the list if you are not on Facebook! We are also working on our Thanksgiving sides options as well, from homemade stuffing to cranberry relish! Yummy!!

Have you put up any Christmas decorations yet? I am thinking about putting up one tree a week so I won't feel so overwhelmed this year. Plus it is nice to have a little extra time to enjoy those pretty lights. What an easy way to bring some joy :)

We are looking forward to seeing all the pretty pictures of your decorations and of course we love to drive around and look at everyone's outdoor decorations! Do you decorate your outside or just concentrate on the inside?

Well it is time for our weekly recipe and we thought this week we would feature one that you can use for those turkey leftovers!!

Turkey Biscuit Stew

  • â…“ cup chopped onion

  • ¼ cup butter, cubed

  • â…“ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • â…› teaspoon pepper

  • 1 can (10-½ ounces) condensed chicken broth, undiluted

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 cups cubed cooked turkey

  • 1 cup cooked peas

  • 1 cup cooked, sliced carrots

  • 1 tube (10 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits, not flaky

Instructions:

  1. In a 10-inch ovenproof skillet (like cast iron), add butter and sauté onion until tender over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until well blended. Add broth and milk and bring to a boil. Stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbling. Add the turkey, peas and carrots and heat through. Open refrigerated biscuits and separate. Gently place and arrange biscuits over the stew.

  2. Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and puffy.

Now how EASY IS THAT!!!!!
