We are so excited!!! So many new things happening right now!!

Goodness what a SUPER BUSY time here at Troutt Old Time General Store!!! We have SOOO much going on I could get dizzy LOL!

Our very first Troutt Blessing Box just shipped out or are ready for local pick up! So grateful for the huge response for the Boxes!! We can't wait to hear how much everyone enjoyed them!! (First time hearing about our Blessing Boxes??? Just click the link to learn all the details! It's not to late to join our Blessing Box Community!!)



We have our Annual Harvest Festival coming up here in a couple weeks! It is always a fun time as we are really having the Fall Feels by then!




Have you switched your wardrobe over yet??? We have ALL our Fall t-shirts out and ready for you to shop!! Our favorite is our store tee with a vintage truck on it!! One day we are going to get us one to drive around town!!!



Don't forget to grab some of our Apple Ciders, mulling spices, hot tea and hot cocoa mixes for those chilly evenings! We are FULLY STOCKED on all of the different varieties!! We have been drinking apple cider AND hot cocoa at our house! You can never go wrong with both ;)

Well it's time to share our weekly recipe! (Have you missed any of our other recipes??? Be sure to look for our recipes on EACH of our Blogs!)




Delicious Fall Pear Preserve Bread

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 cups all-purpose flour • 1½ cups sugar • 1 teaspoon baking soda • 1 teaspoon salt • 1 teaspoon nutmeg • 1 teaspoon cinnamon • 1 teaspoon ground allspice • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves • 1 cup vegetable oil • 3 eggs • 1 cup buttermilk • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract • 1 pint pear preserves from Troutt Old Time General Store & Market • 1 cup chopped nuts

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and cloves in a mixing bowl and mix well. Add the oil and beat until blended. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the buttermilk and vanilla. Add the preserves and nuts and mix well. Pour the batter evenly into two greased loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
