What a weekend of weather!

Well now who would have thought this time last week we would go from 80 degrees to snow in a couple days!!! Wasn't it beautiful though!!!! The perfect snow! Roads and sidewalks clear, but a wonderful Winter wonderland!!! Well of course we could not let this opportunity pass without turning on our Christmas Lights for the day!!! Grab the joy where you can, right!!!

Next week is Thanksgiving!!! Goodness that came up quickly!! We have all kinds of goodies for your Thanksgiving celebrations, so stop by and see us. We will be posting our amended hours next week, be watching.

To usher in the season of giving we are so excited to partner with our Antique Angel Tree!!! Please come in and "adopt" one of our angels and make someone's Christmas season a little brighter! Give us a call at 270-443-0858 for all the detailed information!

Since it is chilly outside let's do a warm and cozy recipe this week!

Turkey Biscuit Stew (great for those upcoming turkey leftovers!!)

  • ⅓ cup chopped onion

  • ¼ cup butter, cubed

  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper

  • 1 can (10-½ ounces) condensed chicken broth, undiluted

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 cups cubed cooked turkey

  • 1 cup cooked peas

  • 1 cup cooked, sliced carrots

  • 1 tube (10 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits, not flaky

Instructions:

  1. In a 10-inch ovenproof skillet (like cast iron), add butter and sauté onion until tender over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until well blended. Add broth and milk and bring to a boil. Stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbling. Add the turkey, peas and carrots and heat through. Open refrigerated biscuits and separate. Gently place and arrange biscuits over the stew.

  2. Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and puffy.

Now how EASY IS THAT!!!!!
